Hello, I'm Debbie — your dedicated remote bookkeeper.
My career began in the most unexpected way. I had never worked as a receptionist, yet I found myself at the front desk of New West Products, Inc., answering phones, sorting mail, taking memos, and supporting the Accounts Receivable department. What was supposed to be a one‑day temporary assignment turned into the beginning of a lifelong career. By day three, they purchased my contract from the temp agency. Within nine months, I was promoted to Accounts Receivable & Collections.
More than 25 years later, I’m still doing what I love — but now as my own boss.
After an unexpected layoff following 8.5 years with my previous employer, I decided it was time to take control of my future. That moment pushed me to build DLH Bookkeeping Services, where I now help small businesses stay organized, compliant, and financially confident through remote, customized bookkeeping.
I’ve worked in nearly every role imaginable since I was 10 years old, and every job taught me something about people, responsibility, and work ethic. Those experiences shaped the bookkeeper I am today: detail‑focused, reliable, and committed to helping business owners understand the financial health of their companies.
Outside of bookkeeping, I have a full and joyful life. I breed and show Boxers — a passion since 2009 — and I also own a horse and love to ride. I enjoy long walks with my husband, staying active, and spending time with my family: four grown children, a grandson, three Boxers, and a horse.
